Coyoacán is one of the famous neighbourhood of Mexico City and its located on the south part from Mexico’s downtown (Zocalo). The name Coyoacán comes from the Nahuatl and mostly means “the place of Coyotes” : This area is filled with single family homes, since most of them where mansions or country houses built in the colonial period. You will admire the narrow cobblestone streets and small plazas.
Some Famous sites: Museum of Frida Kahlo, Parish of San Juan Bautista, Plaza Santa Caterina, Centenario & Hidalgo Garden, several Mercados and other museums.
